Where to Stay in Ubud, Bali: Gusti's Homestay

There are so many places to choose from in Ubud within the same price range. It is just a matter of your personal preference. Accommodations here are more expensive than those in Kuta or in any other places in Southern Bali. That's on a solo traveler's perspective. There are no hostels here which has dorm rooms. If there are, they are probably not advertised in the internet or in online booking sites. Among the initial selections I had, I opted to stay in Gusti's Homestay based on its great location and good reviews.

my lovely homestay

It is located in a street just off Jalan Raya Ubud which is Ubud's main street. Just like any other homestays, it is inside a Balinese family compound so you will pass by their houses first before you reach the guest rooms. It was nice being greeted by them every time you go in and out of the compound.

I was given this pretty room at the corner close to the Koi pond. I couldn't ask for more.

my home in Ubud

I so loved my quiet moments here. What you can only hear are the birds, the roosters crowing in the morning and the sound of the water from the pond. Perfect for meditation.

the enchanting garden

The room is very spacious and spotlessly clean. The blanket couldn't be any more suited for a lady traveler hehe.

how do you like my Balinese bed? :)

I also loved every Balinese details in the room. The bed frame, the windows, the closet, they were all splendid. The wood carvings are beautiful. I really was in the artsy town of Ubud.

One more thing I liked very much was the bathroom. The floor details blew me away. It wasn't your usual tiled floor. It's so pretty. The whole place channels zen.

i'm in love with this bathroom :)

It was nice hanging out here in the terrace. There's a charming Balinese garden in front of you and here you can also talk to the other guests from your neighboring rooms.

Every morning, the very kind and reliable staff Wayan, delivers hot water for your coffee or tea. He will then ask you what you want for breakfast and shortly after, he will deliver it to your terrace.

This homestay is tucked in a street off the main road, so sleeping was a very peaceful experience. It is very accessible to the key parts of Ubud. It is just a 10-minute walk to Ubud Palace and the Ubud Tourist Information Center. Monkey Forest is about 30-40 minutes on foot. Shops, restaurants and other minor temples are just a few minutes away.

We had confusions about the airport pickup on my arrival but every thing has been sorted out. The rooms are being cleaned daily. You can also choose to have different breakfast everyday. Free wifi works very well too. Overall, I had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. I can see myself staying here again when I go back to Ubud. :)

    1. I guess people go to Bali for different reasons. In my case, when I go back, I'll spend more time by the beach. Thanks for dropping by! :)
